"You allowed your fighters to be laid down facing west and burned. You are too scared to retrieve their bodies. This just proves you are the lady boys we always believed you to be.''

The two officers who ordered the burning of the bodies were reprimanded for lacking cultural and religious sensitivity. The muslim faith does not permit the cremation of dead bodies. The two soldiers responsible for recording a message boasting about the act of the burning and broadcasting it on loudspeakers will face non-judicial punishment, which may include a loss of pay or demotion in rank.

The US army investigation concluded that there was no intent to desecrete the bodies as the intention behind the burnigs were hygenic reasons. No criminal charges were pressed against any of the soldiers involved. Although Kandahar governor Asadullah Khalid expressed his confidence into the investigation, religious leaders have criticised its findings and called for more severe punishment of the soldiers involved.

Hygenic. We even have the actual context of the message and they still think that there was no intent to desecrate. I'd like to see what would actually constitute desecration.

Man, are we setting a dangerous precedent or what? I would hate for any of our military members to be caught by the enemy. We are basically saying that it's okay to treat POW's..er...I mean "enemy combatants" any way we choose. How low the mighty have fallen.
