A slightly different view of the same world.
A "trophy" video appearing to show security guards in Baghdad randomly shooting Iraqi civilians has sparked two investigations after it was posted on the internet, the Sunday Telegraph can reveal. The video has sparked concern that private security companies, which are not subject to any form of regulation either in Britain or in Iraq, could be responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent Iraqis.
Bring these guys home now before they ruin everything for us. I’m not against the troops. I am against them being in Iraq. Not only are we there for the wrong reasons, but it just keeps getting uglier and uglier. No wonder the world hates us. These soldiers deserve everything they have coming to them.Read the rest of the article here. Watch the video here. EDIT: To be specific, these are NOT soldiers from the US. They are contracted security guards. Regardless, I am still 100% on bringing our troops home. NOW.
I agree with your sentiment but just wanted to point out that [in this case at least] the murderers weren't soldiers but security contractors.
That is, private workers who are supposed to provide security to the Iraqi public and are hence armed but choose to provide it in a way befitting of mercenaries.
And mercenaries to whom any and all are fair game. A simple case of Iraqis being unpeople (as John Pilger would say).
